Cayucos

C21

Cayucos is the Chumash word for “kayak,” or “canoe,” which was used by the Chumash people to fish in the bay, particularly in the rich kelp beds just north of the current Cayucos pier.

Located on cool, colorful Estero Bay on the Central California Coast, Cayucos is a complete resort providing relaxation away from the heat and smog of the California valley, inland, and metropolitan areas. With the Cayucos Pier and miles of sandy beaches — and Morro Bay and its majestic Morro Rock, scenic Cambria, a short drive away — Cayucos is your perfect destination for enjoying California’s Central Coast. The population was 2,592 at the 2010 census.
